“El Pájaro” (Diego Riemer) and Belén (Maria Belén Giachello) are one of the most popular and renowned couples in the international tango scene. Their tango is intensive and refined, their milonga and vals are full of rhythm and breathtaking musicality. They strive for a continuous search and development of new and original movements without taking anything away from the classical roots of the dance.
Diego “El Pájaro” Riemer started tango in his home town Buenos Aires, and continued in Europe since 2000. As a former drummer, his rhythmic interpretation of tango, vals and milonga is exceptional. This, together with his ability to communicate his concepts, his musicality and flair for improvisation, have made him travel all over the world.
Maria Belén Giachello was born and trained as a dancer in Buenos Aires. She has worked with many of the greatest names in tango, and is also active as a tango and folklore singer. She is well known for her elegant dancing, and as a teacher she emphasises body consciousness, musicality, communication and emotional expressivity. She is a resident of France since 2003.”
